Poetry Jam

Calling all poets, writers, rhymers and spoken word lovers for your words, dreams, applause and screams to present their original poems at the Poetry Jam. Registration required. Ages 10+.

Calling all poets, writers, rhymers and spoken word lovers for your words, dreams, applause and screams. Kids and Teens ages 10+ are invited to present their original poems at the Poetry Jam. 

First thirty minutes for ages 10-12 years, last thirty minutes 12+. 

Registration required for performers only. Audience members welcome with no registration! (Brownie points for wearing berets and snapping!)

Poems must be "school" appropriate! If you would like us to preview your work to ensure it's appropriate for the show, leave a message for Miss Lexie at 815-467-1600 ext. 3 or contact our Youth Services Department at [email protected]

About the library

Opened in 1981, the Channahon Library contains collections for adults, children, and teens; access to public computers, fax, and scanning; and a teen room.  It serves as the administrative headquarters of the library district.
