Rules

The contest is open to ages 0-18. Submissions will be separated into three age categories: 0-5, 6-12, & 13-18. There will be 1 winner in each age category.

  1. Everyone under the age of 18 needs parental consent to enter.
  2. No videos will be made public without the express consent of the parents/guardians.  Entries by teens that are 18 years do not require parental permission.
  3. The video should be no more than 1 minute in length.  Your video  can be less than 1 minute, but should not exceed the limit by more than 10 seconds.
  4. Your video should not contain cursing, excessively dangerous stunts and absolutely no illegal activities or pranks of any kind. If you do choose to perform a physical talent that includes dancing, gymnastics, bike, skate tricks, etc, the library cannot be held responsible for any injury that results from these attempts.
  5. Submissions will only be accepted between July 1 thru July 31. Any videos submitted before or after that time will not be entered into the contest.
     

How to submit

There are a few different ways to submit your video:

  1. Upload your video to YouTube, Facebook or other social media site and email the link to [email protected].
  2. Attach your video file in an email and send it to [email protected].
  3. Submit a hard copy on a flash drive, SD card or disc to the Youth Services Department at either the Channahon Library or Minooka Branch. Please make sure there are no other files except your video saved to the drive, card or disc when you submit it. If you would like your hard copy returned after the contest, please let us know at the time of entering.

Include the following information in the email or on a piece of paper with your hard copy:

  • Full name of child or teen
  • Age
  • A short description of the video, including song or dance titles (ex. “I’m singing the Alphabet Song!” or “Pachelbel’s Canon in D on Guitar”).
  • Name, phone number and email address of a Parent/Guardian so we can confirm permission to enter the contest.
