Summer Reading 2024

June 10 - July 20

The adventure begins June 10! Login or sign-up on Beanstack to get started. 

If you already have a Beanstack account: Log in, go to the "Discover" tab and click "Join". If you have multiple readers on your account, make sure everyone joins the challenge under their own profile (challenges differ by age group). 

New to Beanstack? Go to the Beanstack website or download the app. Follow the prompts to set-up an account. Need help? Watch this video for a brief tutorial or call the library for assistance. 

Having trouble logging in? Go to 'forgot username' or 'forgot password' and follow the prompts or contact the library for assistance. 

Parents: If you don't see the reading challenge for your child's age group, first make sure you have switched to their profile. If you are veiwing Beanstack on the correct reader profile, then make sure to update the child's age/grade in the profile settings.  If you still do not see the reading challenge for their age group, call the library for assistance.

Summer Reading Kick Off

Are you ready for adventure?

Our Summer Reading Kick Off event is the place to start!  Brave the rock wall, chill out with games, visit Jazzi Entertainment for balloons and airbrush tattoos, enjoy a treat from TCBY and more.  You won't want to miss our special guest entertainer, WOW Chicago Bubbles, at 10:30am!

No registration is required for this all-ages event.

Adult Summer Reading (18+ years)

Adults can start a Summer Reading Adventure at Three Rivers Library using Beanstack to log reading minutes and earn raffles and prizes!

Every time you log reading, you are automatically entered for gift card drawings.

Reaching reading goals also earns virtual tickets for our Grand Prize Drawings:

  • Read 240 Minutes (4 Hours): 2 virtual tickets
  • Read 480 Minutes (8 Hours): 2 virtual tickets
  • Read 720 Minutes (12 Hours): 3 virtual tickets

When a Grand Prize ticket is earned, you will need to choose which Grand Prize Drawing you wish to enter. View the prize choices, then enter your tickets for the drawing you wish to enter. Winners of the Grand Prize drawings are eligible for random gift card drawings, however only one Grand Prize can be won per person.

Only materials read during the summer reading program (June 10-July 20) are eligible to be logged. All reading minutes must be logged by the end of the program on July 20. Raffle tickets for Grand Prize drawings must be entered by July 27. Winners will be announced the last week of July.

All prizes must be picked up by August 3.

Youth Summer Reading (0-17 years)

Log reading to earn prizes & Grand Prize Drawing tickets. Kids & teens ages 5-17 can also try Read & Bead. The more you log, the more beads you earn to build a custom necklace or bracelet and earn a Summer 2024 Brag Tag!

  • Beads, chains, & brag tags will be available to pick up at either library during Summer Reading,  June 10 to August 3.
  • Other youth prizes will be available to pick up July 1 to August 3.
  • Tickets for Grand Prize drawings must be entered by July 27.
  • Grand Prize winners will be announced the last week of July.

Read to me

Read to Me Club

0 - 5 years

Parents and family can read to their young children, or children learning can practice reading to the family! Log the number of books a child reads so they can earn fun prizes, a free book and tickets for our Grand Prize drawings. Log optional activities to continue your summer adveture and earn bonus drawing tickets.

Read to me Club kids can also do Read & Bead. 

Books you read for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten also be logged for Summer Reading!

Kids Summer Reading

Kid's Summer Reading

6 - 12 years

Log your reading minutes for a Read & Bead adventure! Along the way, earn other prizes, a free book, and tickets for the Grand Prize drawings. Log optional activities to earn bonus drawing tickets. 

How does Read & Bead work?

1) Once kids are signed up for the reading challenge in Beanstack, they can visit the library to get a chain & their first bead. 

2) For every 60 minutes of reading logged, visit the library to pick out a new bead! The more minutes you log, the cooler the beads get.

3) Log 600 minutes to complete the summer reading challenge, earn your final bead and a Summer Reading 2024 brag tag!

Teen summer Reading

Teen Summer Reading

13 - 17 years

Log reading minutes to earn prizes, a free book, and virtual tickets for a chance to win a Grand Prize drawing. Reach 600 minutes to complete the challenge! Log optional activities and book reviews to earn bonus drawing tickets.

Teens can also Read & Bead! Join the reading challenge in Beanstack, then visit the library to get a chain and your first bead. Get a new bead for every 60 minutes logged.

    • You should only log books or minutes read between June 10-July 20 for them to count towards summer reading.

    • Yes! Books read aloud count, whether experienced at a story time program or reading time with family & friends. 

      Kids & Teens logging can read print books (including comics & graphic novels), e-books, listen to audiobooks, read magazines, news articles and fanfiction.

      For Adults: print books, e-books, audiobooks, news articles and magazines read during the summer reading program are eligible to be logged.

    • Youth:

      As young readers log in Beastack, virtual badges are earned. Earning certain badges will award small prizes or Grand Prize drawing tickets. Prizes may differ by age group. 

      For Read & Bead, once a child or teen is signed up for the summer reading challenge in Beanstack, they can visit the library to get their chain and first bead. For every 60 minutes logged after this, they can visit the library to get their next bead. At 600 minutes, they earn their final bead & a brag tag. 

      Adults:

      Every time you log reading, you are automatically entered for gift card drawings.

      Reaching specific reading goals also earns virtual tickets for the Grand Prize drawings.

      You'll be notified when you have been awarded a prize or virtual ticket. 

    • Youth:

      Youth prizes earned by logging books or minutes will be available to pick up at both of our locations between July 1 to August 3. (Read & Bead chains, beads, and brag tags will be available to pick up as they are earned, or from June 10 to August 3).

      If you are notified by the library that you are a Grand Prize drawing winner, Grand Prizes can be picked up at the Channahon Library during open hours.

      All prizes must be picked up by August 3.

      Adults:

      Virtual prizes will be sent to the email you used when registering your account. 

      You will be notified if you win a random gift card drawing or the Grand Prize drawing. Adult Grand Prizes can be picked up at the Channahon Library during library hours.  

      All prizes must be picked up by August 3.

    • Drawing tickets are virtual and can be redeemed as soon as they are awarded. In Beanstack,  go to the Drawings tab on your reading challenge page. Enter tickets towards 1 or more of the available Grand Prize options (prizes may differ by age group). 

      All virtual tickets must be entered by July 27.

      Winners of the Grand Prize drawings will be contacted by email and/or phone the following week. 

      All prizes must be picked up by August 3.
